Hargreaves Lansdown has appointed Doug Abbott in a new executive role of Chief Product Officer.

Doug will join HL from Vanguard, where he is Head of the UK Client Group, and as Chief Product Officer, he will be responsible for delivering the very best choice and quality financial products for clients on the HL platform.

In the role, he will be reporting to Chief Executive Richard Flint and he will lead partnerships and negotiations with third parties, as well as having responsibility for the £11 billion HL Fund Management fund range and HL’s Workplace offer which serves over 300k employees across our employer client base.

“At Hargreaves Lansdown, Abbott will sit on the Executive Leadership Team, working closely alongside Chief Client Officer, Simon Belsham, who joined HL in May having led digital platforms across the US and UK including as Managing Director of Tesco’s online business and as SVP of Walmart.com, and Chief Investment Strategist, Emma Wall, a prominent public face of HL who leads HL’s investment philosophy, research and analysis, and who joined the business in 2019.”
