Jamie Carragher has teamed up with Chery as the popular car brand was announced as headline partner of the Global Football Industry Awards, celebrating the people who work tirelessly behind the scenes to make football happen.

The partnership brings together two organisations with a shared ambition to recognise and celebrate the people who make a difference to football at every level, from the professional game to grassroots communities.

Launched by Jamie Carragher in 2025, the Global Football Industry Awards shine a spotlight on the often-unsung heroes of the game, recognising the individuals and teams whose dedication, passion and hard work keep football moving both on and off the pitch.

This year’s event takes place on 5 November, bringing together people from across the global football industry to celebrate their achievements and contributions.

As part of the partnership, Jamie recently visited Chery retailer Arnold Clark in Liverpool, where he got behind the wheel and test drove a selection of Chery vehicles, highlighting the brand’s involvement in this year’s awards.

Jamie Carragher said: “I’m delighted to have Chery on board as our headline partner for this year’s Global Football Industry Awards. Football is about so much more than what happens on the pitch, and these awards are all about recognising the brilliant people who make the game what it is. It’s fantastic to have Chery supporting us in celebrating them.”

Farrell Hsu, managing director at Chery UK, added: “Football is built on the people working behind the scenes, from club staff and matchday coaches to the volunteers running community programmes at a grassroots level. The Global Football Industry Awards give them the recognition they deserve, and we’re very proud to be the headline partner this year, helping to shine a spotlight on the contribution these unsung heroes make every single day.”

As part of the partnership, Chery has also donated a holiday as a prize for a raffle taking place at the awards ceremony. All proceeds will go towards the 2026 Football for Change fundraising drive, supporting the organisation’s ongoing work to lift young people out of poverty.
