On October 22 at The Watershed in Bristol, 9amBusiness and Brandpie will host a morning conference that is called ‘How To Be Seen To Unlock Investment.’

The aim of the event is to equip founders and leaders – who are looking for Series A and Series B investment – with the knowledge they need to secure the funding they need.

As part of the event, there will be an opening keynote, two panel discussion and a roundtable. Eighty leaders from the region are expected to attend on the day.

One of the panel members is Harry Tyler (above) – who is a consultant at Brandpie – and here he tells 9amBusiness about how businesses can be seen in an increasingly unpredictable world.

The article

Everything is moving so fast and so unpredictably. The context changes overnight. New players emerge. Pressure builds, whether from investors, customers, and the world around us.

In the middle of all that noise, how do you make sure you’re actually seen?

It comes down to conviction. The founders and brands that stand out are the ones that know exactly what they believe in and stick to it. Conviction cuts through the chaos. It’s what gives people something to hold onto when everything else feels uncertain.

Conviction for founders

When you’re scaling a business, especially through those Series A or B years, the pressure to prove traction can be relentless. You’re expected to move fast, pivot faster, and deliver growth on demand. But constant reaction can blur your sense of direction.

Conviction isn’t about being rigid. It’s about being clear. It’s the ability to say: this is who we are, this is what we stand for, and this is where we’re going. Once you have that, everything else — from product decisions to hiring to investor meetings — starts to align.

Conviction for investors

Investors back belief as much as they back business models. Conviction gives you a way to read the future. It is a way to see which founders will hold steady when their business shifts.

When a team leads with conviction, it shows up everywhere – in their story, their choices, and the consistency of how they show up. That’s what builds confidence. Not hype. Not noise. But a clear sense of intent behind the ambition.

Brand is how conviction shows up

Brand isn’t just about how you look or sound. It’s how conviction takes shape. When you’re clear on what you stand for, brand becomes the way you show it. It is the sum of every signal you send to the world.

That’s what makes a company visible. Not because you’ve shouted the loudest, but because you’ve shown up with real clarity, time and again. That ruthless consistency builds recognition, reputation, and ultimately, attracts investment.

The shift from conviction to momentum

Being seen starts with the focus and courage to hold your beliefs steady as you grow. It ensures your team knows what they’re building toward. Your customers understand what you represent. Your investors see consistency and intent.

Conviction turns a company from potential into presence. It’s what gives you the confidence to move faster, make bolder decisions, and attract the right kind of attention. When you know who you, are and you live it consistently, you don’t have to fight to be seen as the right people always notice.
