Labour Minister Jim McMahon officially opened the landmark Embankment Exchange scheme in Salford this week. The £85 million residential scheme by developer Legacie, comprising 301 contemporary apartments and various leisure amenities.
The scheme is a major milestone in Legacie’s ambitious £1 billion investment programme across North West England over the next five years.
Embankment Exchange is set to become one of Salford’s most desirable addresses, offering residents high-specification living spaces, outstanding amenities, and easy access to Manchester city centre.
The development underlines Legacie’s status as one of the North West’s leading property developers, with a track record of delivering transformative schemes such as Parliament Square and the major redevelopment of the historic Heaps Mill in Liverpool.
McMahon, the local government minister, was joined at the scheme by Manchester Central MP and cabinet minister Lucy Powell, Salford MP Rebecca Long-Bailey and Mayor of Salford Paul Dennett. The turnout from Labour MP’s reflects the party’s ambition to support those delivering major property developments across Britain.
John Morley, CEO of Legacie, comments: “The launch of Embankment Exchange is a proud moment for Legacie and an exciting addition to Salford’s skyline. It reflects our ongoing commitment to regenerating key areas of the North West with high-quality, thoughtfully designed developments.
“This is just one part of our wider vision to deliver both residential and commercial projects that bring real value to local communities. It was great to showcase our work to local MPs, Salford’s Mayor and other key stakeholders.”
Jim McMahon MP, who attended the ribbon-cutting ceremony, praised the scheme: “Good quality developments are vital for supporting strong communities and sustainable growth in our cities. It was great to tour this development and see the investment made in the area.”
The opening marks a key step in the continued regeneration of Salford and reinforces Legacie’s reputation for delivering impactful developments that contribute positively to the regeneration of key parts of the North West of England.
